Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Arizona Criminal History does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be kept for as long as needed to respond. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Standard technical information is collected when a visitor loads a page:
- Page-view dates, times, and duration
- Device category and operating system
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- Browser name and version
- Pages viewed during the visit
- The device's Internet Protocol address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a visitor's device. They help measure use, including popular pages and points where visits end. Analytics vendors combine that traffic into reports. Visitors may disable cookies through browser controls, although doing so can alter how some website functions behave.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Arizona Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes directions to the Arizona DPS Central State Repository, the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Arizona OffenderWatch, courts, sheriffs, and other custodians across the state's 15 counties. Arizona Public Records Law, A.R.S. § 39-121 et seq., governs records held by Arizona public bodies, while A.R.S. § 41-1750 separately controls Central State Repository criminal-history dissemination. Neither law turns this private reference site into a government records custodian. Visitor information is not used to create consumer reports, and Arizona Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies govern information entered into those tools, and each company chooses its own retention and disclosure practices. Arizona Criminal History does not control those choices. Review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Arizona agencies, courts, county sheriffs and clerks, legal-aid resources, or commercial search services. Once a visitor follows an outbound link, the destination's privacy rules apply. Read those terms before providing personal information.
Some advertising companies may measure activity across multiple websites to select ads. That processing occurs on the advertising company's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Arizona Criminal History does not sell personal information. Limited data may be disclosed to:
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid legal demand requires disclosure
- Advertising networks that serve material on the website
- Search companies that process visitor-submitted queries
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used security measures protect collected information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, however, so Arizona Criminal History cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. If information from a minor is identified, a deletion request may be submitted.
Your Data Rights
Rights vary with a visitor's place of residence and the law that applies. Arizona Public Records Law, A.R.S. § 39-121 et seq., concerns government records and is not a general right to private website data. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Object to or opt out of processing where the law provides that choice
- Request deletion of information, subject to legal retention duties
- Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
- Request access to personal information held about them
